The Series Format

Six sessions. One cohort. A shared exploration.

The Saxuce workshop series is structured as a six-session program. Each cohort moves through the material together, building shared vocabulary and group trust across the weeks. This continuity is central to how the program works — conversations in week five draw on observations and frameworks introduced in week one.

Sessions run approximately two hours each. The format is conversational and participatory. There are no lectures, slides to memorize, or assessments. Each session introduces a conceptual framework, then opens into facilitated group discussion and reflection exercises.

What each session covers

The six sessions follow a deliberate arc — from initial observation to deeper pattern recognition.

Session 1

The Emotional Signature of a Purchase

Introduction to the concept that every spending decision carries an emotional charge. Participants begin mapping their recent purchases against an emotional timeline — before, during, and after. Group discussion establishes a shared vocabulary for the series.

Session 2

Impulse and Its Architecture

A closer look at the conditions that precede unplanned spending. The session examines environmental triggers, emotional states, and the cognitive shortcuts that make impulse purchases feel rational in the moment.

Session 3

Satisfaction, Relief, and the Difference

Not all positive feelings after a purchase are the same. This session introduces a framework for distinguishing genuine satisfaction from temporary emotional relief — and explores what each reveals about underlying needs.

Session 4

The Anatomy of Regret

Buyer's remorse follows identifiable patterns. The session maps the emotional sequence of regret — from initial purchase to the moment it appears — and explores how recognition of this sequence can shift earlier in the decision process.

Session 5

Spending in Social Context

How social belonging, comparison, and relationship dynamics shape spending. This session explores the emotional mechanics of gifting, shared purchases, and spending influenced by social identity and group membership.

Session 6

Your Personal Pattern Map

The final session brings together observations from all previous weeks. Each participant builds a personal pattern map — a visual representation of their spending emotional landscape. Group review and reflection close the series.

Before You Arrive

What to expect as a participant

No preparation is required before the first session. Participants do not need to read anything in advance, track their spending, or prepare any materials. The starting point is simply showing up with curiosity.

Across the series, some participants find it useful to keep a simple journal — not to track figures, but to note emotional observations between sessions. This is entirely optional and never reviewed by facilitators.

  • No prior knowledge required
  • No financial disclosures asked
  • Sharing is always voluntary
  • All backgrounds and spending habits welcome
